Montessori Academy of North Hoffman Infant Programs
Individualized Schedules
Our infant program (ages 3-15 months), exclusive to our Huntington campus, follows each child’s unique schedule. We maintain a flexible sequence of daily routines and activities, ensuring that we meet every infant’s needs and rhythms.
Infant Programs: Home and School Partnership
We prioritize a strong partnership between home and school. Open communication and collaboration with parents are essential for the child’s development. In an atmosphere of unconditional love and acceptance, we foster the development of basic trust. As infants communicate their needs, we listen and respond appropriately, making sure each child feels heard and valued.
Engaging Interactions
We hold and rock infants, and we also engage them using expressive language. This interaction is crucial for their language development and helps them feel connected to their caregivers. In a nurturing and secure environment, we care for their physical needs and support their developing personalities. We foster independence as infants learn to participate in their daily routine of care and practical life activities, such as feeding themselves and exploring their surroundings.
Exploration and Sensory Experiences
We provide infants with a variety of things to look at, explore, and experience. Our classrooms are rich in sensory experiences, with appropriate concrete materials that create just the right amount of challenge for developing hands. We carefully select these materials to meet the developmental stages and sensitive periods of each child, helping them gain knowledge of themselves and their environment.
Language Development
We develop comprehensive language skills through the use of materials, conversation, reading, and singing. Early exposure to language is critical for cognitive development, and we strive to create a language-rich environment. Our caregivers read to the infants daily, sing songs, and engage in conversations that stimulate their curiosity and understanding.
Outdoor Activities
Our program includes outdoor activities where infants can experience nature and develop their motor skills. We have a safe and secure outdoor play area where infants can crawl, explore, and enjoy fresh air. These outdoor experiences are essential for their physical development and overall well-being.
Our Commitment to Infants
At Montessori Academy of North Hoffman, we dedicate ourselves to providing a loving, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our youngest learners. Our infant program supports their growth and development in every aspect, laying a strong foundation for their future learning and success.
