International Day
Each year, the Montessori Academy of North Hoffman community comes together to celebrate International Day—a joyful and meaningful event that honors the diversity, creativity, and cultural curiosity of our students and families. This special day showcases the richness of global traditions through music, dance, food, art, and student-led performances, embodying the Montessori value of global citizenship.
Held at Willow Creek Community Church, the celebration begins with an opening processional of It’s a Small World, performed by our Infant and Toddler Community. Throughout the morning, families enjoy a variety of international dances by students across all program levels—from Primary and Elementary to Erdkinder.
2025 Performances Included:
Zorba’s Dance from Greece
Kala Chashma from India
La Raspa from México
Plena de Mis Plenas from Puerto Rico
Hasta Santiago a Pie and Conga from Cuba
After the performances, families gather in the Atrium for the International Feast—a shared meal featuring vegetarian and meat-based dishes from around the world, including a selection of desserts. Families are encouraged to sample small portions to ensure that everyone enjoys a taste of each dish.
In addition to performances and food, International Day features a Student Art Showcase, highlighting creative works inspired by an international culture
The event reflects MANH’s ongoing commitment to fostering cultural awareness, empathy, and appreciation for the world beyond our own communities. It’s a day of unity, celebration, and joy—one that students, staff, and families look forward to year after year!
