International Day
Each year, the Montessori Academy of North Hoffman community comes together to celebrate International Day—a joyful and meaningful event that honors the diversity, creativity, and cultural curiosity of our students and families. This special day showcases the richness of global traditions through dance, art and food, embodying the Montessori value of global citizenship.
CULTURAL DANCES
The celebration begins with an opening processional of It’s a Small World, performed by our Infant and Toddler Community. Then, each class performs a traditional dance on stage from a different culture tha. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about different cultures and share their experiences with the community.
2026 PERFORMANCES:
Infants & Toddlers: It’s a Small World Processional
Primary 1 Class: Kinderpolka Folk Dance (Czechia)
Primary 3 Class: High Heels Te Nachche (India)
Lower Elementary Class: Hora Din Moldova (Moldova)
Elementary Class: Stomp (United States)
Erdkinder Community: In the Swing (United States)
INTERNATIONAL FEAST
Our potluck-style feast is a highlight of the event, where families bring a dish representing their cultural background to share with the community. After the performances, families gather for a shared meal featuring vegetarian and meat-based dishes from around the world, including a selection of desserts. Families are encouraged to sample small portions to ensure that everyone enjoys a taste of each dish.
ART EXHIBITION & AUCTION
In addition to performances and food, International Day features a Student Art Showcase, highlighting creative works inspired by an international culture. Each piece reflects student exploration and creativity, inspired by architecture, artists, landmarks, traditions, and everyday life throughout the region. We also auction off beautiful collaborative art pieces created by our talented students and Ms. Meeta, our art teacher.
