STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Maria Salouras

MARIA SALOURAS
Lead Teacher
Primary 3

What led you to become an educator?

My journey that led me to become an educator began here at MANH, where my own experience as a student inspired a lifelong passion for Montessori! After graduating from the MANH high school program (Erdkinder), I knew exactly what I wanted to study. I earned my Early Childhood Education degree from Northern Illinois University, and then headed to Dallas to earn my Montessori AMI 3-6 Diploma. Returning to MANH to guide children has been a beautiful full-circle moment that allows me to give back to the community that shaped me.

What do you love about working at MANH?

The sense of community at MANH is what I love. MANH is a community defined by its inclusivity, flexibility, and warmth. I deeply value our commitment to advocating for every student, recognizing that each child thrives on their own unique timeline. Because our approach is so individualized, I’m able to build meaningful, personal relationships with both the children and their families.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at school?

When I’m not in the classroom, I stay active by working out and traveling to explore new cultures and sights. I also cherish quality time with my family and friends. Lately, I’ve been diving into "crafty" hobbies like sewing, diamond painting, and my newest project: scrapbooking!
