Our MANH community brought these two collaborative canvases to life, layer by layer. Staff began with brushstrokes that formed the first shapes, and parents built on their work with color and detail. Students added the finishing touches with careful hand stitching, bringing this shared mosaic to life as a reflection of the creativity and connection within our school community. Together, the canvases remind us that the Montessori journey is one we share, with each child, family, and teacher contributing something meaningful along the way.
Look closely, and you’ll discover hundreds of tiny hand stitches that add texture and depth, sometimes following the painted designs and sometimes creating entirely new patterns. Working with needle and thread gave students an opportunity to contribute in a different way, using patience, concentration, and a careful hand to build upon the artwork others had started. There is so much to discover in each piece, from the bold, expressive brushwork to the delicate details that make these canvases especially beautiful up close. The canvases are now on display in the East Campus hallway, where families can enjoy the finished artwork and discover some of those wonderful little details for themselves.
