STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Robert Frolick

ROBERT FROLICK
Erdkinder Coordinator,
Guide in History, Math, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Bowling!

What led you to become an educator?

I had previously been in market research for 15 years and found the work unfulfilling. I always felt a connection to teaching. I was looking to transition careers in 2013, an opportunity came up through Dr. N to help out in the burgeoning Erdkinder program, and I have been here ever since.

What do you love about working at MANH?

I love the yearly Field Experiences, chaperoning students to places they have never experienced. I enjoy working side-by-side with students as they engage in work, seeing all of their efforts come to fruition from learning a new math concept, trying a new role at cafe, building the tallest tower out of straws, to presenting their Senior Capstone Project. The thing I love most is seeing children who have been with our school for so many years, graduate from our Upper Erdkinder High School.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at school?

I enjoy spending time with my family and dog Merlin. I also like to cook and try new recipes. During the summer, you may find me in a backyard hammock dozing off while reading a story by Roddy Doyle or the travel books of Paul Theroux.
