Creating Together: Color, Texture, and Wonder

Art

The art room has been full of bright color and creative energy this month. Our Primary students welcomed spring with cheerful bug prints, beginning with painted backgrounds and then layering bold stenciled insects on top. Each piece is lively and expressive, filled with strong contrast, playful color, and the excitement of discovery. Through printmaking, children explore repetition, shape, and composition while strengthening coordination and confidence.

Second and third graders have been building a vibrant coral reef sculpture from cardboard, paper, yarn, felt, and other found materials. As they cut, curl, fold, and arrange each piece, they are transforming everyday materials into an underwater landscape rich with texture, movement, and imagination.

Sixth graders recently completed sculptures they have been lovingly working on. One student turned painted wood blocks into a charming collection of small houses, while others transformed wire hangers and nylon into striking abstract forms, each finished with distinctive details and personal expression.
